PsyTrade privacy policy
Effective date: October 5, 2026
PsyTrade is a personal routine and rule journal, provided by the PsyTrade developer identified in the app's store listing. This policy covers the PsyTrade app and our Cloudflare backend. PsyTrade is not financial advice. It places no orders, connects to no broker, and does not read your trading accounts or measure profit and loss.
Information we store
- Anonymous identity: a randomly generated user ID and an authentication secret created by the app, plus a random installation ID. Our backend stores a hash of the secret, not the secret itself. These identifiers let us link your records and restore your journal without asking you to sign in. Anonymous here means that we do not require your name; the records are still linked to one user.
- Your rule and routine: the rule text you choose or write, its type and history, your trading style, selected trading days, session time and length, and whether you trade on your phone, computer, or both.
- Day logs: dates, session start and planned end times, your self-reported results (kept, broke, no trade or no setup, and days off), the rule associated with a day, and when and where a result was recorded. We calculate rule days from these records.
- Feedback: messages and answers you choose to send, together with the app version, trading style, rule-day count and timestamp. An email address or handle is optional. If you provide it, we may contact you about your feedback or invite you to discuss PsyTrade. Your rule text and journal are not included in the feedback payload.
- Usage events: onboarding steps, notification permission choices, starting sessions, days off, logging or undoing a result, changing a rule or schedule, feedback actions and restoring data. Events include timestamps, relevant choices and timing, and user and installation IDs. Event payloads do not include rule text, feedback text or contact details.
- Technical information: app and operating system versions, device platform and last sync time. Cloudflare processes network information, including your IP address, to deliver requests and limit abuse. Our application database does not store IP addresses; Cloudflare may retain operational logs and backups under its service retention settings.
Do not put passwords, broker credentials, account numbers or other sensitive information in your rule or feedback. We do not request contacts, precise or approximate location, photos, microphone access, payment details, brokerage balances or trade executions.
Why we use it
We use this information to run your routine, save and restore your journal, authenticate sync, respond to feedback, protect the service, and understand which parts of PsyTrade people use so we can improve it. Usage analytics are first-party and linked to your anonymous ID. There is no third-party analytics SDK or advertising SDK in PsyTrade.
Storage and service providers
Your journal is saved on your device first. When a backend connection is available, the app sends journal changes, queued feedback and usage events to our Cloudflare Workers backend and Cloudflare D1 database. Offline changes wait on the device until they can sync.
On iOS, the identity and authentication secret are kept in Apple's Keychain with iCloud Keychain synchronization enabled. If the same identity is available after a reinstall, the app can request the matching server journal. Recovery depends on that identity being available; uninstalling alone does not delete the server data.
Cloudflare processes data for us as our hosting provider. Apple operates the iOS and iCloud services under its own privacy policy. Data may be processed outside your country. Requests to the production backend use HTTPS. Authorized service operators can access stored data for the purposes above; this is not an end-to-end encrypted journal.
No ads, tracking or sale
PsyTrade has no ads, does not use advertising identifiers, does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and does not sell or rent your personal data. We do not share your data for targeted advertising. We disclose data to service providers only to operate PsyTrade, or when required by law. Your rules and results are not published to other users.
Retention and deleting your data
We keep your server journal, feedback and usage records until you request deletion; there is no automatic expiry for these application records.
To delete them, open Settings > Delete all my data in PsyTrade and confirm. When connected to the backend, the app first asks the server to remove the user record, authentication hash, devices, rules and rule text, schedules, day logs, feedback (including optional contact information) and usage events. After the server confirms deletion, the app clears this device's journal, pending uploads, sync state and stored identity and returns to onboarding. If the server cannot be reached, the app reports that nothing was deleted; connect to the internet and try again.
This action cannot be undone. Uninstalling the app is not a deletion request. It does not remotely erase copies already saved on another device or in a device backup. Provider backups and operational logs expire according to Cloudflare's retention settings and may outlast deletion from the active database. Using PsyTrade again starts a new anonymous journal.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can edit your rule outside an active session, change future schedules, choose whether to send feedback or provide contact information, and enable or disable notifications in system settings. Disabling notifications does not disable journal sync or usage events. You can request deletion using the control above.
For privacy questions, access or correction requests, or help deleting data, open Settings > Send feedback and include a way to reach you if you want a reply. You can also email calm@psytrade.app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights concerning your data or the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Because we do not require a name or email, we may be unable to locate your journal if you have lost its anonymous identity.
Children
PsyTrade is intended for adults managing their own routines and is not directed at children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us through the channels above so we can investigate and, where we can identify the records, delete them.
Changes
We will publish policy changes on this page and update its effective date. Material changes will also be explained in the app or its release information.
